Hero is a project designed to bring financial services to unbanked and underbanked populations in Southeast Asia by using blockchain technology. A blockchain is a global ledger with immutable transactions that can be viewed globally. The transparency of blockchain technology will lower the costs of providing essential financial services to unserved populations previously deemed unimportant. Thus, as stated on the official Bitcointalk ANN thread, Hero aims to apply blockchain to improve the standard of living and quality of life of developing nations by offering these services. The project has a Foundation in Switzerland that operates as a non-profit organization.
The Hero project draws from a wealth of experience in financial services, having operated a virtual pawnshop, Pawnhero, since 2015. Using the internet to issue loans has given borrowers reduced interest rates by up to 50 percent. As a result of its innovation, Pawnhero received the Judge’s Choice Award as the Most Promising Startup in Asia from the Echelon Asia Summit 2015 in Singapore.
The Hero Capital Market Platform will facilitate investments and loans using blockchain technology and “smart contracts.” Smart contracts are trustless, self-executing contracts that can be activated on the Ethereum blockchain, which is the blockchain on which the Hero Capital Market Platform will run. Smart contracts remove middlemen and, hence, costs. The Hero Capital Platform will tokenize loans taken in Southeast Asia and purchased globally by investors using the blockchain.
With the ubiquity of the internet and tech-savviness of Southeast Asia, Hero aims to tap into the potential growth of financial services leveraging blockchain technology. Currently, only 27 percent of Southeast Asians have a bank account. Providing the unbanked with essential financial services and capital will be key to the economic growth and development of Southeast Asia. Essentially, these services will be provided virtually over the internet, with users able to obtain them with mobile devices.
During the presale beginning November 20, 2017, Hero will offer Hero Origen Tokens at a discount. Investors can buy them by signing up at the Hero website. The Hero Origen Tokens can then be used to take advantage of the features of the HERO Capital Market Platform. Investors who buy 200 or more Hero Origen Tokens will get special opportunities to issue credit on the platform with potential returns depending on risk. A maximum of 250,000 ETH (Ether) or equivalent in cryptocurrency will be accepted from investors. Each Hero Origen Token will cost .005 ETH, and the sooner investors purchase them during the crowdsale the better the discount they will receive. These tokens will be available to buy and sell at major exchanges after the crowdsale has ended.
*I am receiving Hero tokens for the growth of the community.
